Kartchner

Derek and I met in high school and I instantly fell in love. Derek took a little convincing, which came back around to him when he was trying to get me to marry him. He did, however, convince me and we have now been married for six and a half beautiful years. We have four wonderful and crazy children: Dathan, Blake, and Savanna, and Macady. I can't believe I'm old enough for this paragraph to be describing me.

This is Savanna's method of mooching off of Aunt Stefani at the 24th Celebration. It was rainy and a little bit cold.

All the cute little grandkids at Matt and Mary's reception. There are now thirteen of them, with none currently on the way.

Derek has killed probably close to 3 thousand bees this last week, most of which were in his home office. The weapons were about 8 cans of wasp and hornet spray, a bottle of ammonia, and the Ford Explorer. He decimated a swarm on the ground outside (probably a thousand) by running them over and over and over and over with the car. Who does that?

Savanna is off to school. Her older brothers thought it was funny to dress her up as a "teenager."

Derek came back from running one day looking like this. If you look closely he has bugs all over his
face. He runs so fast that they don't even have time to get out of the way. Either that or this was the
most humid day ever and there were tons of bugs all over. Whichever, it was pretty gross.

Yeah, Monsoons

Dathan thoroughly enjoyed playing in the rain. This was one of the first storms of the season. It was beautiful and smelled wonderful

Fourth of July

I know I am a little slow on the posting, so I am going to try to catch up, starting with July 4.

My Patriotic Contribution

Blake, dry, in face of the firetruck spray.

Dathan, wet, in front of firetruck spray.

Derek rode Aunt April's horse, Frankie, in the parade. He is the assistant scout master and is learning to really enjoy being with the boys. It has inspired a new hobby. He has several little cowboys in his troop so he took an interest in horsing around, OOPS, I mean riding horses. He goes riding 3-5 times a week with one of his scouts. He is loving the cowboy idea. We are so grateful to be living in Thatcher where that hobby is a possibility.
