Kartchner

Derek and I met in high school and I instantly fell in love. Derek took a little convincing, which came back around to him when he was trying to get me to marry him. He did, however, convince me and we have now been married for six and a half beautiful years. We have four wonderful and crazy children: Dathan, Blake, and Savanna, and Macady. I can't believe I'm old enough for this paragraph to be describing me.

Macady Photo-op

My good friend and visiting teacher, Rachel Allen, not only brought me a delicious dinner (killer rolls), but also volunteered to take some pictures of our beautiful baby. Being the nice person that I am, I allowed her to and here are some of my favorites. Thank you Rachel!

More Macady

Mommy is so excited to get another girl!
They had visiting restrictions in the hospital, so we used alternative methods of letting the kids see their new sister.

Macady Kartchner

OOPS! Forgot to turn this one. 1:30 AM. Water broke at 1.
3:39 AM. Amazingly fast from 6cm on. Moms and anesthesiologist and doctor all just a little too late.
Look at all that dark hair!
Daddy brought Miss Macady a rose and cute little teddy bear. She's already got him wrapped around those tiny fingers of hers.

Mesa Arizona Temple

So Derek and I went to the temple this last weekend. He went in while I did errands and kids, then I went in while he did the Bass Pro Shop and kids. When I got there to switch him, I planned on sitting in the air-conditioned car and waiting for him to come out. Blake really didn't want to and adamently said "Mom, we have to go touch the temple. President Monson said.....or maybe Brampa (grandpa)." I thought that was so funny. So we did and I took these pictures as well.

Go to bed early.......

Savanna just moved into a toddler bed last week and let me tell you, it has been a steep learning curve. She is so excited to be "big" but she has fallen out several times, hence the padding by the bed. I went in one night to check on her before heading to bed myself and this is how she was sleeping. I don't know if she fell off and stayed asleep or just decided to bag the whole bed idea and not take the chance of falling off.
I am not sure what possesed him, but one day I found Blake asleep right outside the carport door. It looks intentional to me, but who knows?

The one picture that was supposed to go here was left out because I couldn't find my camera when I wanted to take it. On the 4th of July, we got up early(5:48) and rode on the firetruck in the town parade. The two boys just zonked out that afternoon. It was funny because Dathan fell asleep on the ground in front of the couch. Later Blake went in (I was watching), looked at Dathan, apparently thought it was a good idea, climbed on the couch and snuggled in, closed his eyes and was completely gone, all in the course of about 30 seconds.

Cluff's Pond

Savanna and Addy are starting to play cooperatively (within reason).

Blake didn't go much farther into the water than this (except when he tripped).

Dathan was a champion rower, especially when Bryant was acting as his motor on the back end.

Savanna is to the age where she thinks she is so big. She is becoming a monkey just like her older brothers.
This is her being proud because she is sitting in a stadium chair that folds up by itself. She loved that. It entertained her through most of the game. She actually enjoyed when it would fold up and fold her in half. Such a funny little girl. 2.5 months to nursery.

This is about a third of all the paper airplanes we have in our house right now. Dathan is obsessed. And he won't let me throw any of them away (if I find one on the floor and he is not around it goes straight to file 13). He comes up with lots of different designs, some effective, some not. I do think he is a creative little guy.

So, sorry for my lack of postings. I have have been doing lots of this........
.............And not so much of this (or blogging, among other things).
Any-who, I should feel better in another month or so, so maybe I will resume taking pictures and blogging at that point. I took 4 pictures this entire month!

So this is about a month late, but hey, you do what you can. So for Dathan's birthday his dad took the boys and Cade out camping. Savanna and I showed up for hot dogs and Skippito (the dog) followed us. They had a good time.

If I had been feeling better I would have joined them (and if we had a big enough tent).

For his cake, Dathan chose a dragon.
